David Euler
PAINTER | GERMANY
Born in Germany, grew up in Israel, currently living in the US. Since I remember myself I used drawing, painting, and photography to understand the human world. I use many different mediums, including oil, acrylic, charcoal and pencils, pigments in various binders, metal, stone, drywall, and photography. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style. My first mentor was Gershon Knispel in Haifa. He introduced me to the power of large formatted oil painting. Then, in Düsseldorf I met Michael Irmer who became a close friend and mentor that inspired me to explore the human silhouette. Many artists inspire my thought process such as Alberto Giacometti, Mark Rothko, Eberhard Schlotter, Hap Grieshaber and many more.
