Giuseppe Zumbolo
PAINTER | ITALY
The work of art originates from the idea, the project, the structure, the materials, which make it substantial. Not everything we produce is art. Once completed, we must ask ourselves: will it go beyond the moment of its execution? Is it possible for the future to qualify it as an invention? How will it be considered in time, one year, two ten… Without an invention there is no art. Sometimes invention is a different point of view ". Giuseppe Zumbolo was born in 1955, he has been exhibiting since the mid-70s. He has exhibited in many places. His works are present in important public and private collections both in Italy and abroad and are published in some authoritative editions. A profound art scholar, during his long career he has had various training phases. From the author's copies of the youth period, to the study of the Fauves, particularly attracted to the figure of Matisse, to the Pop-Art of the 80s, to the New York landscapes, the city in which he lived for some time. In New York he was fascinated by the works of Mark Rothko who will leave a profound mark on his future artistic production. For about twenty years, his research has been oriented to the 2nd half of the XX century, a period that in his opinion still represents the avant-garde of today's art. The artist writes: "... in sumnary, from these artists, we learned that the support itself is part of the representation, since it can be folded, cut and so on, for a representation that is in line with the times. Continuing in their wake also means getting out of the extreme conceptualism and zeroing typical of those years to propose the story of life and society with the language of painting. Painting can still tell the world ... " His research is not pure quotation but the acquisition of language to continue further. He has exhibited since 1975- Many are his exhibitions, most recently, Cam di Brera, Milan and Museo S.Agostino Crema. His works are present in Italy and abroad in private and public collections. 2019 - Originality Award - Civil Revolution - By the Ass.
